About Me
My name is A’amina Barbara Arnoth. I am a spiritual healer in the Sufi Way and Muqaddam in the Shadhiliyya Sufi Tariqa. I would love to be of service to your healing.
Through my private healing practice and workshops, I have helped many people remove the veils of separation to experience a deeper, more loving connection with their hearts, finding more peace, love, mercy, strength, acceptance, happiness, and joy that they were longing for in their lives and relationships. I have traveled internationally to teach Healing in the Sufi Way and help to bring peace and wholeness into a community in conflict.
I have pursued my interest in health and healing all my life. My heart has always yearned for a deeper and more loving way of being and living. When I was 15 years old, deeply questioning what life was about, I thought my heart would burst. Standing on a mountaintop in Idaho, wilderness spread out in every direction as far as I could see, I wanted to yell out as loud as I could, “Does anybody out there know what’s going on here?”
Well, when you really want to know truth, and really call out to God, he answers. For me, it was in the form of teachers and guides who taught me how to find the truth within my own heart and how to teach others to find truth and deep peace within their own hearts. Since then, for the past 40 years, my life has been focused and centered around spiritual learning, living, healing, and teaching.
I currently live in Los Angeles in an ever deepening, loving and committed relationship with Dave, my husband of 33 years. We live with our cat, while our two wonderful, grown daughters live independently.
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health from Boise State University.
Master of Arts in Spiritual Psychology from the highly acclaimed and unique University of Santa Monica where I learned numerous heart-centered communication and counseling skills.
Masters of Theology in Spiritual Ministry and Sufi Studies from the only school of its kind, the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism. Because of it’s effectiveness and the qualities of gentleness, compassion, and mercy that come through it, my heart deeply resonates with this healing modality. I have found it to be the most effective form of healing I have ever experienced or seen. Here I was given the Sufi name, A’amina, which means the sincere, faithful, and trustworthy.
Other training:
* Certificate of completion from the two-year Teacher Internship Program at the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism and am currently an assistant teacher at the University.
* I have attended numerous workshops for healing and communication, including couples and family healing, divine manifestation, and healing through art, writing, and poetry.
* I have received personal guidance and refinement for my healing and ministry skills from Dr. Ibrahim Jaffe, Salima Adelstein, Dr. John Wadude Laird, and other faculty of the healing school University that I highly respect and honor and through various programs.
* I have received training as a Conflict Resolution Specialist and Mediator and have worked for a community based, cross-cultural dispute resolution center in Los Angeles
The foundation of my healing work is based upon and draws from my combined education, knowledge and experience.
